Workforce AI readiness assessment
Most AI readiness assessments score a company's data, systems and governance. They say little about the people whose work AI is changing, role by role.
An AI readiness assessment for your workforce, role by role and person by person.
JobRoute scores every job title against public labor data and gives each role and each person an AI Ready Score from 0 to 100, where higher means more AI-ready, with the tasks, skills and next roles behind it. Your employees do not fill in a survey.

What the assessment covers
Four measures of each role, combined in one published formula. Every measure runs from 0 to 100.
AI Ready Score = 0.35 x (100 minus task exposure) + 0.25 x skill durability + 0.20 x role trajectory + 0.20 x adjacency breadth
- Task exposure, inverted35%
How much of the role's work AI can already do, task by task, from O*NET 31.0 and the Anthropic Economic Index (June 2026 release). More exposure lowers the score.
- Skill durability25%
How well the role's most important skills hold their value as AI spreads, rated by skill type and the WEF Future of Jobs Report 2025 outlook.
- Role trajectory20%
Whether demand for the role is growing or shrinking, from BLS Employment Projections (2025 to 2035).
- Adjacency breadth20%
How many nearby roles people in the role could move into with limited retraining.
Workforce readiness and organizational readiness
Both are called AI readiness assessments. They answer different questions, for different owners.
| Aspect | Organizational AI readiness | Workforce AI readiness (JobRoute) |
|---|---|---|
| The question | Is the company ready to adopt AI? | How ready is each role, and each person in it, for the work AI is changing? |
| What it scores | Data, infrastructure, security, governance and AI strategy | The tasks in each role, the durability of its skills, demand for the role and the moves open to the people in it |
| Usual format | A questionnaire the company fills in | A score built from public labor data for each job title, so nobody fills in a survey |
| Who uses the answer | IT and transformation leaders | HR and finance leaders planning headcount, hiring, training and redeployment |
What a company gets
The full assessment takes about two weeks from the day we receive your roster and ends with a 60-minute board-prep session with a founder.
- A score for every role and every person
- The AI Ready Score and the task exposure behind it, from a roster export with job title, department and location.
- The tasks AI already does in each role
- Each task scored from 0 to 100, with the ones at 60 or more marked, and tools built for that kind of task.
- Cohorts with a recommended action
- People with the same exposure pattern grouped together, each cohort marked redeploy, retrain or retain.
- A board pack
- A source for every number. See a sample board pack built on a fictional company.
What it does not measure
- Your IT systems, data quality or AI governance. Pair it with an organizational assessment for those.
- Any one person's performance or AI knowledge. Scores describe roles, and the decision about people always stays with you.
- A prediction that a job will disappear. Exposure shows how much of the work AI can do today.
Check it on roles you know
Every occupation's tasks and scores are public. Look up a role your team knows well on the occupation explorer, compare it with the BLS AI exposure category for the same job, and read how the planning works in AI workforce planning, task by task.

Questions about workforce AI readiness
What is a workforce AI readiness assessment?
It measures how ready each role and each person is for the work AI is changing. JobRoute scores every job title against public labor data: how much of the role AI can already do task by task, how durable its skills are, whether demand for it is growing, and how many nearby roles its people could move into. The result is an AI Ready Score from 0 to 100 for each role and person, where higher means more AI-ready.
How is it different from an organizational AI readiness assessment?
An organizational assessment asks whether the company is ready to adopt AI and scores its data, infrastructure, security and governance. A workforce assessment asks how AI changes the work of each role and what that means for the people in it. Most companies need both, and they answer to different owners.
Is it a test of employees' AI skills?
No. The score comes from public data about each role: its O*NET tasks, the skills it needs, the BLS outlook and the roles nearby. It describes the role, so it says nothing about a person's AI knowledge or performance, and nobody takes a quiz.
Can individual employees check their own readiness?
Yes. The free AI Ready Score at ready.jobroute.ai lets a worker pick an occupation and the tasks they do, and in about three minutes shows a score, task exposure, durable skills and adjacent roles. No signup is needed to see the score.
